I found the combination of Marks food plan & his personal coaching to be really wonderful. I went into the program looking to lose 10kg. After the 11 weeks, I’d lost 13kg and felt fantastic! The food plan means eating lots (which I love), but it’s all about eating the right foods. 15 months later I still enjoy the eating routine & the weight has stayed off. Thanks Mark!!!
Mark has passion in spades! His desire to see you succeed, is not on his to do list - he lives it every day and is part of his culture. It is genuine and from a pure place of empathy.
Mark is also in tune with my needs and my abilities. He is patient, yet I am seeing results incredibly fast. He has been able to provide me with a food plan, diet ‘hacks’ and exercise options that fit into my lifestyle, calendar and physical abilities.
Mark is always only a call or text away and regularly checks in with me in-between our catch ups.
I thoroughly recommend MJS Training - Mark and his program have changed my life.
After using a few personal trainers I’m glad I found Mark at MJS Training. With over 30 years of experience in the industry he is a wealth of knowledge and very adaptable to my personal needs as I live a very busy lifestyle. Highly recommendable to anyone wanting to increase their fitness and strength.
Entering my 40’s I recognised my fitness was heading in the wrong direction. I had the good fortune to bump into Mark & took up his offer to visit his studio & have a chat! Since then he has reinvigorated my approach to my overall health & fitness, Mark is an enthusiastic trainer, very responsive to my individual needs/requirements, mixes up the program to keep it interesting but experienced enough to know when to push me out of my comfort zone!
Hi Mark,
I just wanted to thank you again for getting me on the food plan.
When we first sat down to talk about a healthy diet, I was struggling to moderate my consumption of sugar; especially when I was stressed out from work. Whenever I had a difficult shift, or was feeling stressed or anxious in general, I would rely on coffee and caramel slices to make me feel calm and in-control again.
When I started the food plan, my goals were to slim down a little in a way that supported my fitness goals, and to break the emotional-eating cycle. I achieved both: over a couple of months I lost around 5 kg and managed to substitute caramel slices for healthy alternatives when I was stressed.
I think the food plan worked so well for me because it gave me a framework within which I could learn to make healthy decisions autonomously. In the past, I'd tried to follow quite complex diets that focused on drastically restricting what I was consuming. Unfortunately, they always made me feel disempowered - not only because they were too complex or severe to sustain, but also because I would inevitably give up as soon as I made a mistake.
Instead of restricting what I ate, the food plan gave me a list of healthy options to consider including in my diet. This not only made the process seem more positive, but also gave me the information I needed to take responsibility for my food choices.
You always stressed to me that I didn't have to give up my caramel slices altogether, just like I didn't have to include foods in my diet that I disliked. The point was to develop better habits over time.
A year down the track, and I still bear the food plan in mind in my day-to-day life. Foods that were never a part of my life before - like soy, salmon, and the chia seeds I eat with my porridge! - are some of my greatest pleasures. I have a healthy food routine, I'm the lightest weight I've been in years, and most importantly I feel like I'm in control when I make food choices.
Thanks so much for the constant support and encouragement, Mark. Here's to another year of fitness and healthy eating!
Mark at Mjs Training has done wonders for my fitness over the past 3 years. Mark takes a scientific approach to all his clients through many years experience. Mark is a great trainer and even better bloke.
I have been training weekly with Mark for just over four years. Mark has tailored specific training programs to ensure peak physical fitness and strength and has continued to change the sessions to ensure that they remain challenging and interesting.
I am in my 40’s now and believe that I am fitter and stronger than I was in my 20’s.
Mark also worked very closely with my physio to develop a rehabilitation program for when I had a knee reconstruction following a ACL rupture. This rehabilitation program was instrumental in my ability to get back onto the netball court and continue to play twice a week.
I would highly recommend Mark to anyone looking at getting in shape, improving fitness and strength to help in general living or playing any forms of sport.
I met Mark when I was 50. My exercise consisted of lap swimming mostly (which I enjoyed), but I wasn’t shifting the weight. I had poor routines and inconsistent eating habits and always felt tired at work. With Mark’s encouragement and professional guidance and expertise, I developed a more balanced fitness and health program that not only helped me shed the KGs (20+) but improved my overall health - which my GP kindly points out every year I have the health check up.
Now as a 56yo, I haven’t felt the same fitness since I was a teenager.
Thanks to Mark, (and plenty of hard work), just about every aspect of my personal and work life has been positively impacted. I cannot recommend Mark highly enough.
